Got the chairman prize of Parks and Open Space Association of Japan at the 27th urban park contest


We joined the national conference of “let’s share and grow green city” 2011 at Hibiya Park on October 28.

Even though that was on weekday, there were lots of people out there since the gardening show at Hibiya Park 2011 was taken place.
Various gardens including traditional style gardens utilizing Japanese landscaping skills or westernized gardening designs were exhibited and had given colors referred as vitality to the modern park that proudly having been there for more than 100 years.
The national conference of “let’s share and grow green city” is the annual assembly organized by Parks and Open Space Association of Japan, and Hiroshi Komiyama from Mitsubishi Research Institute gave a lecture as well as awards ceremony for achievement on urban greening was given on this year.
Among the program, there was the urban park contest, in which we got the chairman prize of Park and Open Space Association of Japan for “the communication center for global citizen” that we were in charge of the landscape design.
The communication center for global citizen as a core development that succeeding the idea and accomplishment of the 2005 World Exposition, Aichi, Japan, was opened on October 10, 2010, at the former site around the north gate of the Expo.
The facility has the organic shaped single shelled roof that allows a broad space at the rooftop and that, with new vegetated hill on the artificial foundation, was aimed to fuse with landscape surrounded. It was prized since well evaluated that physically and aesthetically merging internal spatial design into external rooftop green design in broad sense.
Concerned with formulation of national strategy for biodiversity as well as COP10 and URBIO2010 taken place in Aichi, We would like to keep an eye on this space, completed in 2011, and it following development regarding with biodiversity
