What seemed like a trace of Japanese garden was found unexpectedly in the baroque garden of Schonbrunn Palace in 1997. Through a research, it was identified that, in 1913, the superintendent of the palace Gardens had created the garden referencing the one existing in England. The restoration was carried out first by removing the plants and earth that had covered the entire garden, the stone arrangements and riparian works repaired, and waterfall composition was adjusted to run water for completion. Furthermore, a new Kare-Sansui (dry landscape) garden with crane and turtle stone arrangement was created to the left of the original garden and a teahouse garden was arranged on the right side. This Japanese garden by Japanese was provided for Viennese.
